How can you protect the car tires over long periods of outdoor storage?

I have a vehicle that is moved 4 weeks per year at most other times, it is just outside. We now have new tires on it and I want to keep them in the best condition as possible. I know they spray you just spray and walk away, but do protect them or just make them look own? Also, should I cover? If the covers to be water proof if I cover them?

if the car is parked in the grass or any where water can reach the tires i put some patio stones down and climb on them to get the tires on the ground .. Wood would also be good tires rot dry over a long period of time in the sun to tire covers is a great idea it would be better if you could put the car up on stands ot the weight of vehicle, then take a little air on the tires, brush a small amount of petroleum jelly to protect them from drying out and use blankets to protect from sunlight.
