Sand Canopy
How would you stock a 125g aquarium?
The tank is 6' long. Im getting a few Anubias plants, with some large pieces of driftwood, and sand for the bottom. Its going to have 2 penguin 350s, 1 whisper filter that has around a 400gph rating, and 2 large powerheads hooked up to 4 sponge filters for the filtration. Its supposed to resemble a river the way I want to set it up. Do you think thats enough filtration for that big of a tank? I also would like to know what you would put into it. Its only going to have 2 shoplights as the lights. (hidden by the canopy) Im really open, I like large cichlids and pictus catfish. I just want something that wont outgrow my tank. I also have kept a few tanks, so im not new. I know about cycling and so on. Thanks
The filtration is certainly enough. If I were you I would sell the filters though and get a large Canister filter. Fluval FX 5 comes to mind. http://www.cichlidexplorer.com/hagen-fluval-canister-filters/
In terms of cichlids. Since you will be getting plants and driftwood you probably will have to go either the Central or South American Cichlid route. African cichlids need high PH and will destroy your plants in no time.
