2 general math questions I could use some help on?
The first equation is y=(x-2)^3+1 and they want to know if this equation is increasing, decreasing, concave up, or concave down. Could you walk through this problem so I can understand why it would be increasing, decreasing, concave up, or concave down?

The second question is fairly easy but I want to make sure I have the right answer. The question reads: You math teacher is a hunter with a 75% hit percentage. This means she hits a clam 3/4 of the time with her marshmellow gun. If she shoots 3 shots, what's the probability that she will hit 2 out of 3 clams? -Could you just answer this one for me? you dont have to walk through it. thanks. best answer will be chosen!
Second question:
A miss is .25 probable on a given shot, a hit .75.
Thus,
.25*.75*.75 = .140625.
BUT, there are three ways for this to happen, and each has that probability:
MHH
HMH
HHM
So, it is three times that, for a total of 42.1875%
The first question:
At 'big' negative values of x, y is very negative.
At 'big' positive values of x, y is very positive.
So, it is increasing.
I don't know a definition of concave that would apply to a generally increasing/decreasing function except locally, near some particular part of the curve.
