Dome Tent
Can a dome tent be used as a temporary greenhouse?
I have a greenhouse ordered but won't get here for another week and my plants need to go outside. I have an older dome tent 9x12' and wondered if that would work temporarily? I am in zone 5b temps between 35-55 and I've got braided tropical hibiscus, hardy crepe myrtle, hydrangea trees, windmill palms, english walnut trees, etc. basically borderline zone 6 plants.
An old tent won't really be the best of green houses because the fiber won't let light or air penetrate easily. If at all possible, keep the plants indoors until that greenhouse arrives and is set up. I know it's a bother, but unless the plants can just live outside for a week, a tent of any type is a poor substitute for an actual greenhouse.
